New DLED36 Tri-Brick From Elation Utilizes Revolutionary Tri-Color LED Technology

Elation Professional has made a major breakthrough in RGB LED fixtures: the introduction of tri-color LEDs. Instead of each LED lamp being a single color, the new tri-color technology makes it possible for each lens to contain a combination of three 1-watt LEDs — red, green and blue. This advanced 3-color innovation gives users tremendous advantages over single-color LEDs, including improved RGB color mixing, the elimination of multi-color shadows, and a much brighter, more even field. Choosing Break Beat Records

For the best in scratch records you want to find break beat records. These have samples of other records on them. Basically break beat records take the samples from other records where the music breaks down to just the drums or another solo. James Brown (may he rest in peace) records are notorious for this which is why so many Hiphop artists sample from Brown’s collection. When you go into the record store ask the DJ or sales rep for the latest break beat records or ask he/she can suggest some good ones because you want to build your collection. Most seasoned DJ’s are glad to help new DJ’s. Also ask the sales rep if they can play the record for you to make sure it’s what you want. I need to ask IllVibe Collective the names of the break records they use in the videos. That is one thing I forgot to do when making them. Also email them at info@illvibe.net and tell them I (Ben from The-DJ-Equipment-Guide.com) referred you. They should be able to help you out even more.

If you have some additional resources for break beats for newbie DJ’s post it here.

Hope this helps and long live the DJ!

American DJ Adds 3 New Mobile Effects To On-The-Go Series

American DJ Adds 3 New Mobile Effects To On-The-Go SeriesExtreme ease of use and portability, superior optics and ultra affordability have made American DJ’s On-The-Go Series a hit with working DJs and musicians. The company has added 3 exciting new models—the Deco FX, Hyper FX and Warp FX—to this highly successful series of plug-n-play mobile effects.

Targeted toward beginners as well as experienced performers who want fantastic-looking light shows but prefer not to bother with high-tech gizmos, each of these additions to the On-The-Go series is modeled after a larger, more complex and/or more expensive American DJ effect that is not part of the series.

The Deco FX is a smaller, lighter, “non-intelligent” version of American DJ’s DMX 250-watt Deco 250 effect. It creates the same type of dazzling 3-dimensional textured glass patterns in a more compact, 150-watt format that requires absolutely no knowledge of DMX programming. The Deco FX offers 11 vibrant colors and 8 unique cut glass patterns that look great when projected on a wall or a dance floor. (more…)

American DJ Introduces LED Version Of Electra Moonflower Effect

American DJ Introduces LED Version Of Electra Moonflower EffectAmerican DJ has introduced an LED version of another of its classic moonflower effects. Inspired by the popular Electra 250, the new Electra LED is a scanning mirror moonflower using red, green and blue LEDs that produce razor-sharp beams.

The Electra LED contains 46 total LEDs, 16 Red, 15 Green, and 15 Blue, which provide amazing brightness and rich, saturated colors that won’t fade. In a visual comparison, the light output of the Electra LED is similar to that of a 250-watt halogen bulb, while drawing much less power and offering all the other benefits of LED technology.

Traditional halogen moonflowers can’t deliver an eye-popping lightshow like the Electra LED. In addition to the brilliance of its LEDs, a glass optical system with new lens technology enhances the sharpness and clarity of its beams, while a wide beam spread allows the fixture to cover a large area. The colorful LED patterns can be projected onto a dance floor or a wall. Sound-active with built-in programs, the Electra LED is virtually ready to go as soon as it’s plugged in.

“LED technology is changing the DJ and club lighting industry,” said Scott Davies, General Manager of the American DJ Group of Companies. “Now users can have classic American DJ moonflowers and club effects with all the benefits that LED technology provides.”

Among the many benefits of LEDs are low heat output, which keeps the Electra LED cool enough to run all night, eliminating duty cycles altogether. Dancers or performers also stay cooler without the lights radiating heat. Additionally, thanks to its minimal heat production, the Electra LED doesn’t need to cool before packing, making it ideal for mobile entertainers. LED technology also provides longer lamp life, rated at 100,000 hours, removing the hassle—and expense—of bulb replacement. And LEDs consume less power, which not only saves money on electric bills, but also allows more units to be connected together in a single circuit.

Lightweight and portable, the Electra LED is perfect for DJs and mobile entertainers. Weighing in at only 5 lbs., the Electra LED can go practically anywhere. The Electra LED measures 17″L x 8″W x 9″H and comes with a hanging bracket. It has a suggested retail price of $159.95.
